PFU Betting Track: RSPCAB

Owner: Mai

Want a bit of extra money? Want to root for your favorite ASB battlers in your own way? Then come place your bets here!

How it works:

Betting

Members with existing accounts at the bank may take a small portion (no more than 5%) of their savings account and use it to place bets during the first five rounds of a battle. To place a bet, the bet placer must use the following form:

Battle: (name) vs. (name)
Link: (insert link here)
Battler: (name of the person you want to place a bet on)
Amount: (amount of money the placer wants to use)
Message: (cheer you want to have delivered to the person you've placed a bet on)

The money is added to a pre-existing pool and is, at the end of the battle, divided up as following:

-Those who bet on the winner will get an amount of money that depends on the odds of the battle. (See the next section.)

-If the trainer a person bet on lost the match (through actually being defeated, not by DQ or forfeit), then the bet placer's money will be kept for the pool.

-If there is a draw or if the battle comes to an end by DQ or forfeit, then everyone gets their money back.

- The bet must be placed before the third round of battle is reffed, except for a one on one battle where the bet will need to be placed before the second reffing. After this, betting is closed for that battle.

- Any people found cheating, or fixing battles, will be banned from the betting arena, as well as being fined 25% of their ASB money as well as forfeiting their bet placed. All fines and forfeited bets will be placed directly into the betting pool.

Odds

Odds do in fact affect the amount of money people receive at the end of a battle. Here's how this works:

Each trainer gets a rank based on his or her win/loss ratio. The higher the rank, the more likely that person will win a battle against other trainers. This rank is then taken at the beginning of a match and compared to the opponent's rank as a ratio.

Alright, so what does this have to do with the pay off?

For an example, let's say that we have a pair of trainers, A and B. Trainer A's rank is two whereas trainer B's rank is one. Therefore, the ratio between them is 2 : 1 in favor of trainer A. However, at the end of the match, if trainer A had won, those who bet on him/her would receive the money they used to bet plus half of the amount they originally used to bet, whereas if B had won, then those who bet on B would get two times the amount they used to bet plus their original bet. So, essentially, if you bet on the person most likely to lose, then you'll get a bigger payoff. (That is, if they win.)

Cheering

Yes, you may have a cheer, and you may have it say almost anything you want (see below). One of the members of the house (in other words, the people who run this gig) will deliver it to the battle thread. However, there are only two rules to this:

1. This is a cheer, so please refrain from saying nonsense along the lines of, "The sky is blue."

2. Keep it appropriate.
